The original inspiration for the PartyList came from Landis, who
ran his own PartyList back in the day. When Landis left, the list fell
into disuse. Ken then started his own PartyList in early 2003
using Landis's original formula: you got a party going on? Email it to
the list. Want off the list? Email with the subject "I want off." This
PartyList grew over the next 2 years to include over 350 people in the
Upper Valley.
In 2005 Ken and Adam, with the help of the PartyList
Crew, took things to the next level: uvPartyList.com. This list brings
you more events and more craziness using the same original concept:
Send us your events, and let us know if you want off the list.
The Upper Valley will never be the same!
And for pictures, commentaries, and discussion about life in the
Upper Valley, make your way to the uvScene.
Contact The uvPartyList Crew if you have any questions!
Here are the people who make the PartyList a reality, in no particular order ... Interested in helping make the dream happen?
Adam Between DJing, VJing and designing websites like this one, he's pretty busy these days. But that's where the PartyList comes in -- there always time to get your rager on. As a founding member of the A-Team he handles the technical details of making the party happen. Need strobes and a deafening sound system? He's got ya covered.
Jill Jill (a.k.a. Phunky) is a vinyl addict doing her part to add parties to the list. She's half the team that puts on Nice-Up every month at India Queen. An upper-valley-for-lifer, she remembers all too clearly when "uv" and "scene" were contradicting terms.... but the upper valley is like the mob... every time you try to get out, they pull you back in!
Carol Carol (aka finn) always likes an event with lots of local flair. Just for fun she's been known to drive miles simply for a slice of really good pizza or a rockin' good party. If not motoring around the upper valley she can be found lost in the woods with her dog by her side.
Mark When not staring into a computer screen he can be found outdoors pretending to be twenty something while biking, kayaking, scuba diving, skiing and taking photographs. In between minor diversions like work and school he finds time to check the pulse of the Upper Valley social scene and write for the uvScene.
Ken Ken, while no longer in the area, will always be remembered as the vision behind The Scene. Today he lives across the continent in British Columbia, but he is always close to us thanks to the internet. We simply call him The Godfather.
